The majority of homework in our classroom is given out at the beginning of the month and is due at the end of each month. This gives you time to work on it at your pace with your child. I suggest you work with your child nightly on their homework. This begins a homework routine that your childs needs to establish and use for years to come. We also want you read with your child 20 minutes a night. On ocassion, special assignments are given out with notes when it is due Also, unfinished classroom work will be sent home. Please return this work the next day.
Homework/communication folders go home Monday through Thursday. I keep them on Friday. Please look through this folder nightly. This is the way most communication goes home and is very important. The left side is what I send home and anything you need me to see is returned and on the right side of the folder.
Behavior Tickets / Cards
Please ask your child (or usually your child will show and tell you the behavior card that goes home daily. Green is good - no behavior problems during the day. Yellow, Orange and Red means their was 1, 2 or 3 problems that day. I usually try to write on the card what happened. Sometimes, time gets the best of me and the card go homes with just a general checkmark with what happened
Your child saves the green cards and after 10 green days/cards. Your child can return the cards to me for a visit to the prize box. Please count the cards out with your child and make it a big thing when they make it to 10.
I only collect these tickets and students go to the price box on short day (usually Friday).
